Assalaamualaykum
At the request of some people, this is Micha’s story.
Sister Micha is 43 years old and from Poland. Like many other Eastern Europeans, she came to England 2 years ago, and found herself working in the Ibis Hotel as a cleaner.
During the Sheperds Path seminar, she saw the number of sisters in niqab, and was angered at what she saw as “their oppression”
She had many misconceptions about Islam, including thinking that as Muslims, we worshiped the Ka’bah, whom we called “Allah”
At the end of the seminar, she was cleaning and saw one of the sisters, and looked at her with a look of hate. However, this sister did something that we should all strive to do, and approached the cleaner and started of a normal conversation with her.
This led to an exchange of numbers and a friendship, which turned into a shahdah on Friday 16th October 2008, at maghrib time. By the grace of Allah, she is now not only a muslimah, but a muhajibah as well!
She asked for this message to be given Al Maghrib:
* We need to approach people with the message of Islam
* She had lived with Muslims for the years she had been in London, but none of them told her about Islam.
* Dawah should be given through your actions and manners as well as your speaking.
* Our manners contradict our dawah – we have to turn into walking talking adverts for Islam.
* Take every chance you have to give dawah
* “Thank you to Al Maghrib” – it was the people from here that ed her to Islam.
Sister Micha returned back to Poland on Monday 19th October to tell her friends and family that she was now Muslim, and spread the dawah to them. I would also like to add on – if you have the opportunity to spread the news about AlMaghrib, or the dawah more specifically, then grab the chance to do so. I was fortunate enough to meet 3 sisters, all of them converts to Islam at the GPU. 2 of them were from Romania, and a week before they came to the UK, they heard of Al Maghrib, so when they saw the stall – they signed up to the LoG course straight away! Allahu Akbar! never underestimate the power of dawah with sincere intentions!!”
